Panasonic lawsuits say Broadcom violated computer tech patents

(Reuters) – Japanese electronics maker Panasonic accused chipmaker Broadcom Corp of violating its legal rights in quite a few personal computer-technological innovation patents in Texas federal court Thursday.
Panasonic Holdings Corp advised the courtroom that Broadcom rejected its features to explore a license to its patent portfolio, which it explained included a “wide array” of Broadcom products and solutions.
The twolawsuits say Broadcom products and solutions such as microprocessors, integrated circuits and parts used in wireless networking infringe ten Panasonic patents.
Broadcom, Panasonic, and Panasonic’s lawyers did not instantly respond to requests for comment.
Panasonic asked the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas for an unspecified total of cash damages and a court docket order permanently blocking Broadcom from violating its patent rights.
The lawsuits also claimed Broadcom infringed the patents willfully, noting that Broadcom experienced cited some of them in its own patent purposes.
Broadcom previously sued Panasonic, Toyota and other individuals in yet another Texas courtroom above Toyota infotainment systems it explained violate its patents. The business dropped its bid for an import ban at the U.S. Intercontinental Trade Fee centered on the allegations, and the parties agreed to dismiss the Texas circumstance in May well.
