SARATOGA SPRINGS — Stepping away from the bar and picking up a rake — and other implements — members of the law firm of Hodgson Russ on Thursday dispatched more than 20 attorneys, legal assistants and paralegals to volunteer to help with seasonal maintenance and upkeep at Yaddo, the Spa City artists’ colony that’s as famous for its landscaping as it is for contribution to culture.
Located on a sprawling 400-acre estate adjacent to the Saratoga Race Course, Yaddo offers residencies to artists from all nations and backgrounds working in a range of disciplines. In March, it was forced to send all its residents home and furlough more than half of its staff.
