The governor declared Friday he picked Rick Braught, of Duncan, to fill a vacant seat on OU’s major governing board, which also oversees Cameron College and Rogers State College.

He was the president of Claremore steel pole producer Pelco Structural until the company fired in him 2019. The firm later accused him in courtroom documents of fraud, embezzlement and breach of fiduciary obligation.
Albert alleged in a Rogers County District Courtroom lawsuit the enterprise wrongfully fired him. The lawsuit, submitted in 2019, is nevertheless pending.
OU President Joseph Harroz Jr. reported Albert confirmed an “ardent enthusiasm” for the college.
Stitt also was complimentary of Albert adhering to the regent’s resignation.
