Tesla developing in-house supercomputer technology, according to lawsuit against ex-engineer

Tesla Inc. sued a previous engineer boasting he illegally transferred private data on its supercomputer know-how to his personal computer and turned in excess of a “dummy” laptop for inspection to include up the theft.

Tesla is producing an in-house supercomputer, dubbed Challenge Dojo, to offer with massive quantities of data, which include video from Tesla cars, and employing it to produce autonomous driving program. Alexander Yatskov was hired in January as a thermal engineer to support layout cooling programs for the personal computer, which generates a ton of warmth, Tesla claimed in the criticism.

“These thermal patterns and info are confidential and tightly guarded within Tesla,” the electrical-car maker claimed.

But Tesla claimed Yatskov admitted to downloading private facts from his Tesla gadgets to his personalized devices, after he was confronted. He turned about a “dummy” laptop for inspection by Tesla to consider and cover his tracks, the firm stated.

Yatskov quit on Could 2 and has refused to return the data, Tesla claimed in the grievance.

When achieved by phone, Yatskov stated he wasn’t conscious of the grievance and declined to instantly remark on it.

Tesla also accused Yatskov of lying in his resume about his abilities and function practical experience. He also breached a non-disclosure arrangement that barred him from disclosing trade strategies, Tesla claimed.

“This is a situation about illicit retention of trade strategies by an worker who, in his short time at Tesla, previously shown a monitor file of lying and then lying once again by supplying a ‘dummy’ machine to try and go over his tracks,” Tesla said in its grievance.

Tesla is searching for compensatory and exemplary damages and an order that would prevent Yatskov from disseminating its trade strategies and immediate him to return all proprietary data.
